A 60-strong Hagar contingent stormed the trails of Angkor Wat. Comprising survivors, staff and advocates, every runner made their mark finishing their race strong despite the personal challenges each individual faced.
Here in Singapore, there was also an ardent supporter who ran the full 42km in the Standard Chartered Marathon. She too, faced her challenges and thoughts of giving up flashed through her mind but the reminder of the cause and the beneficiaries gave her the much needed boost to finish the race.
Over at Angkor Wat, advocates and survivors ran side by side clocking each kilometre together, encouraging each other along the way. They had been training for this and now their discipline and commitment paid off. Champions in the making, we all made it through.

Hagar is grateful to all the runners who supported the race and raised funds for the recovery programmes to help survivors of trafficking and exploitation. A total of $20,425 was raised through the individual supporters from team Singapore and we want to shout out a loud THANK YOU to them and their friends who gave generously. Check out their personal campaigns at Giving.SG.
Because of you, women and children continue to receive counselling and help to recover from their traumatic experience and are enabled to pursue their dreams and return home to their community of choice, as they gain economic independence for their future.
