Linklaters, a leading global law firm and a faithful supporter of Hagar contributed extensively, funding, research and expertise to the development of the “Support Children in Legal Processes” project aimed at supporting child survivors of extreme abuse in Cambodia through their legal processes and ending impunity for their abusers. Most recently, the firm’s support has extended to the Singapore chapter led by Hagar Singapore. Through collaboration with the Singapore State Courts, Community Justice Centre and NUS Centre for Pro Bono & Clinical Legal Education, we are working to develop a legal toolkit designed to support vulnerable witnesses including children and trafficking survivors in Singapore through the judicial process, ensuring perpetrators are brought to justice.

Singapore Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking in Persons (TIP)

Singapore Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking in Persons (TIP), co-led by the Singapore government’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Manpower, was established in 2010 to combat human trafficking in Singapore. Their key strategies include the 4 P’s – Prevention, Prosecution, Protection and Partnership. HAGAR collaborates closely with the Singapore government in our daily operations, committing to clients referred to our care for restoration and resettlement.

We are deeply grateful for the organisation’s faithful partnership and the pool of volunteer lawyers who go out of their way to supporting survivors of trafficking and abuse, lessening their risk of re-victimisation as they navigate the criminal justice process.

Unicef

The United Nations Children’s Fund is passionate about defending the rights of children and helping them fulfil their potential. Our similarities in mission and values make UNICEF a natural partner to Hagar. In conjunction with UNICEF, Hagar in 2015 published a pioneering report which showed children were often left re-traumatised in their pursuit of justice. The research findings eventually resulted in the development of the Support Children in Legal Processes project; legal resources produced to assist child witnesses.

IOM is a long-standing supporter and partner of Hagar Afghanistan, enabling Hagar to sustainably run a transitional home for displaced women and girls (Transitional Care Centre, TCC) in Kabul, the only home focusing on reintegrating survivors back into society, and the only shelter for boys in Afghanistan (Forgotten No More, FNM).
