The recent deadly conflict along the Thailand–Cambodia border has triggered a humanitarian crisis of devastating scale. In just days, hundreds of thousands of Cambodian migrant workers and their families have been forced to flee Thailand in fear and desperation.

Overnight, fires sparked by bomb attacks, tore through six border villages, leaving more than 30,000 people homeless. Among the displaced are countless women and children, now facing an alarming risk of trafficking and exploitation.

For the past 10 days, conditions at the transition centres in Poi Pet and Kamrieng have been deeply strained; marked by overcrowding and critical shortages. Children arrive lost, hungry, and terrified – many separated from their families in the scramble to escape. While a fragile ceasefire was declared on 28 July, tensions remain high and fresh waves of evacuation are expected this week.

Because of our long-standing partnership with the Cambodian government, Hagar has been formally invited to support the nationwide emergency response. We are one of the few organisations trusted to step in at this scale, and we are committed to reaching the most vulnerable as quickly as possible.

However, at this present moment, the scale of displacement has stretched our resources to the limit. Families continue to pour into the centres daily – exhausted, malnourished, and desperate for food, shelter, and safety. Without urgent help, we simply won’t be able to meet the growing need.

Through these transition centres, we are collaborating with local authorities to provide emergency supplies, conduct intake assessments, issue legal documentation, and connect victims with long-term support.

Your support can help us deliver life-saving relief and give families the chance to rebuild their lives in the following ways:

  1. Emergency care packages
  2. One-month supply of food, milk for children, diapers, hygiene kits, and first aid items.

  3. Longer-term support
    • Trauma counselling and medical care
    • School support and clothing for children
    • Livelihood rebuilding through vocational training, job placement, and small business support
Our immediate goal is to support at least 550 displaced children and families who are most in need.

To achieve this, we need to raise $300,000.

With your help, we can reach even more families who are desperate for safety and a fresh start.

Your donation today can save lives and restore dignity to families caught in this crisis. Every minute counts.
