Hagar Singapore is organising our first-ever ‘Swing to Action’ Charity Golf Tournament this year. We aim to raise $300,000 through this event to support the beneficiaries under our care through the recovery and reintegration programmes, to benefit women and children who have survived extreme human rights abuse, particularly human trafficking, gender-based violence and sexual exploitation.
Besides enjoying a good workout and networking opportunities, you will also get to meet one of HAGAR’s beneficiaries from Cambodia who will be sharing his personal story at the event. Trafficked to Thailand for labour when he was 10 years old, the boy underwent an arduous journey of abuse, unimaginable to most. Today, he stands tall having withstood the worst of adversity.
We are also privileged to have Mr. Christopher De Souza, Member of Parliament of Holland-Bukit Timah GRC as the Guest of Honour for the event, who will be giving an address at the Dinner. MP De Souza was responsible for mooting and pushing the successful passing of the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act in Singapore last year.
