How student groups can transform broken lives

Education transforms lives. As a student, yourself, you can help break the cycle of poverty and abuse. Become an advocate. Engage your friends or organization. Raise awareness and donations. Support a child in school, and change a life. Participate in Hagar’s FREEDOM SCHOLARSHIP campaign today!

Introduce Hagar to the staff and students
This can be done by inviting Hagar to share during the school assembly programme. Read how students from Swiss Cottage Secondary celebrate compassion.

Organise an event to support women and children in Hagar Recovery programme
At the beginning of the term you can write about Hagar in the school newsletter and let other students and parents know that the school or class will be holding an event to raise support for Hagar to help vulnerable women and children. This will encourage discussion about Hagar and promote awareness of the work of Hagar.

Decide and Register the event or project you would like to organise, and Hagar will assist you. Example: Hold a benefit concert, organise a recycling project or walk/run, if a class of 30 students give $2.50 a month each, it supports a child for a whole year. Here’s a list of ideas.

Incoporate Hagar into school curriculum
Teachers can incorporate the Hagar curriculum into their lessons during the term. This will help to keep Hagar fresh in the students’ minds and gives them the excitement to participate in the event to help Hagar women and children. Click here to request a Hagar Curriculum focussed on Child Labour
